Jon and i went to the same class in university time. He could be wearing short pants and slippers even during the winter in Melbourne. He had a nickname — Polar Bear (a very smart and intelligent one).
And yesterday, Jon and Esther tied the knot. I saw a very different Jon. When he’s with Esther, his eyes are soft, his hands are always supporting her.
It was a very lovely wedding with nice folks and great moments. Photographing a wedding for my friend who is an architect and gorgeous Esther who is an urban designer, i just got to embrace what i like a lot in my photography — lines and context, and of course, contents. During the closing shot for their quick portrait sessions, Jon and i were even talking about Tadao Ando and Toyo Ito, when i was trying to wrap the session with a conceptual portrait. And at night in the banquet, i overheard their wedding guest talking about Alvar Aalto. It certainly would be easily more than 3 renowned architects’ names mentioned yesterday. What a day.
